Event Videos...
Bath Spa String Quartet would like to thank Andy Hooker of Andrew Hooker Violins in Rode for the use of his church for the recording. Also, Jon Durrant of JD Videos for filming the footage and last but definitely not least, Ian Clutterbuck of Field Of Vision for converting the video files for us.

‘Canon in D’, by Pachelbel
This is probably one of our most popular requests. It is often used in wedding ceremonies, more often as an entrance piece in place of a bridal march or as background music for the signing of the registers, but occasionally also for the bride and groom’s exit. If you intend to use it as an entrance piece for your wedding ceremony, please bear in mind that it does take a little while for the piece to build. We would therefore advise that you wait to enter the room for 30 seconds (or more if you can manage it!), so you get the full effect of the music. In any case, this piece is perfect for use as an entrance as it has a ‘stopping point’ every four bars, in which the quartet can bring the music to a gentle close. This piece can be played by the string trio and a modified version is also available for the string duo. |

‘Celebrated Minuet’ by Boccherini from the String Quintet in A
This well-known classical piece is performed here as a violin and cello duo, although it is also available for the string trio and string quartet. This piece is sometimes used as suitable background music for the signing of the register during civil ceremonies or at wedding receptions. |
 |
‘Funiculi Funicula’ Luigi Denza
This is a popular and lively classical piece in Italian operatic style, with the vocal parts replaced by the strings which enter in succession throughout the string quartet. |
 |
‘El Choclo’ Tango Criollo by Villoldo
Members of the Bath Spa String Quartet often perform this tango along with other similar pieces in this style, as part of the background music provided for wedding receptions or corporate events. |
 |
‘It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing’ by Duke Ellington
This popular and lively jazz standard makes for great listening whilst enjoyed with some celebratory drinks! |
 |
‘Lullaby of Birdland’ by George Shearing
Another popular jazz standard, this piece often forms part of the general mixture of styles that the Bath Spa String Quartet will play as background music at weddings and other events. |
 |
‘In A Sentimental Mood’ by Duke Ellington
This jazz standard, amongst other similar tunes, often form part of the background music played for wedding drinks receptions. |
